7-26 day 6

Day 6 was fairly uneventful in terms of drama, but it was emotional in other ways:
We played guitar hero and sang all morning, and slept all afternoon.

But in between these two monumental experiences, while sitting at the table playing Uno, two people I had never seen before in my life came up to transparent wallpaper of our glass menagerie, and began to try to communicate with us. We divert our eye contact to try not to seem like we’re cheating, but the people have a little sign and they leave it propped up for us to see. Adam says, “It’s something about Taz.” And I’m thinking great I haven’t eaten lunch yet and I’m already getting blogged* on!

But Julie moseys over to decipher the legal pad sheet. Something along the lines of ‘We love you, hang in there, God bless!” And it really pushed me to the verge of tears (I’m telling you this in secrecy because Boys Don’t Cry*). But it really helped me to feel better about everything else lately.

Also my interview with Jim clarified my assumption that the Capital Region (and parts of Vermont and Massachusetts) is well aware of my somewhat unfortunate disposition.

So I slept away the afternoon and then was extremely appreciative of my other visitors (including my mother and father, Sandy J and even some people from my old church).

We had our usual dodge ball free for all and then people watched. I got some Sharpie-induced tribal bands and played checkers on Julies’ cardboard board?
PB&J for dinner, now we’re playing flip cup with tap water (it is a Saturday night).

I suppose this is not the most entertaining entry, so, my apologies. Tomorrow I’ll try to incorporate something more poetic.

*Blog – The mental input of participants via computer. More commonly known as, and as used above, Blog is Last Student Standing 2008 slang for the passing of gas or fecal matter.

* Boys Don’t Cry – Feature film starring Hilary Swank relaying information commonly associated with transgender individuals, specifically by examining the life events of Brendan Teena and his struggles.
